Popular beaches of Koh Samui

 

Samui is an island in the Pacific Ocean Gulf of Thailand. It is part of the Thai province of Surat Thani. The second largest island in Thailand after Phuket. The island can be reached by ferry from the mainland, or by air flight, because the island has an international airport. The island is rich in natural attractions: white sandy beaches, coral reefs and coconut palms. The most popular beaches among tourists are located on the eastern side of the island. Close to the airport is Chaweng Yai beach, Bangrak pier, Chaweng and Plai Laem.

 

Lamai beach

Lamai Beach is located in the east of Koh Samui. The length of the coastline is about 4.5 km. This beach is considered the second most popular beach after Chaweng.
Lamai Beach, like Chaweng, can be roughly divided into three parts: north, central and south. Lamai Beach is quieter and less crowded than Chaweng, although all the infrastructure is also present here. There are many restaurants, beach cafés for every taste (Thai and European food), bars, there is a grocery market, supermarkets and even Tesco Lotus. Lamai has golf courses, a Muay Thai stadium, and several gyms. From entertainment available: rental of water scooters, kayaking, water skiing, wake board, Thai massage. In the central part of the beach there is an opportunity to rent a sunbed and an umbrella. If you prefer to relax near restaurants or beach cafés, ordering for any amount will give you the opportunity to use the lounger for free and + free Wi-Fi. Lamai beach can be reached both by taxi and by public transport - tuk-tuk.

 

Chaweng beach

Chaweng Beach is located in the east of Koh Samui and is the most popular and lively beach on the island. The length of this beach is about 6 km.
Chaweng beach itself is conventionally divided into three zones: North (Chaweng Yai) is a rather quiet part of Chaweng, despite the fact that there is an airport nearby, where planes take off every hour. 
Central Chaweng is full of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. 
South Chaweng (Chaweng Noi) - begins behind a rocky headland and differs from the central one for its quiet and calm beach. 
Chaweng is the center of the island's tourist life with a well-developed infrastructure. On the beach, there are both five-star hotels and bungalows and guesthouses. There are also massage parlors, several markets, cafés, beach activities such as banana rides, parasailing, jet skis, water skiing and flyboard. Chaweng is a good choice for active people and nightlife lovers. 
You can get to the beach by tuk-tuk, bike or taxi.

 

Crystal Beach (Silver Beach)

Crystal Beach (Silver Beach) is a tropical paradise beach with a length of about 250 meters. It is located in a small, charming cove overlooking the northeast of Lamai Beach. 
This place is also known as Thongtakian (Thai means Ta-Hyana Beach) its official name. 
This is a beach where everyone can relax and swim. And above all, here is a paradise for children. 
This is because the water is calm and clear with a smooth transition to depths. 
Even if you do not live on this beach, you have the right to relax on it, sunbathe, swim, and especially this place is ideal for snorkeling. 
There are no night and children's entertainment on this beach, and if you want to have fun, then in 10-15 minutes drive you can get to Chaweng or Lamai beach, where there are many bars, restaurants and nightclubs.

Bang Po Beach

 

Bang Po Beach is located in the northwest of Koh Samui. This beach is one of the longest on the island and is about 11 km long. Surrounded by many bars and restaurants with accommodation options and keeping the original tropical style. There are very few people on this beach, so this place is ideal for those looking for a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle. In addition to the beautiful sunset, if you are a lover of seafood delicacies this is the place for you. The beachfront offers the best seafood on the entire Koh Samui. This beach is also suitable for snorkeling and diving. On the seabed off the coast of Bang Po, you can find many colorful fish, small crabs, vibrant algae, octopuses and amazing beauty of shells. You can get to Bang Po Beach by taxi.

 

 

Choeng Mon beach

 

Chong Mon Beach is located in the northeast of Koh Samui, between Chaweng and Bophut beaches. Chong Mon Beach is one of the best places on the island for a relaxing family vacation, especially very popular with families with children. Fine white sand on the beach, you can hide in the shade under a palm tree or find a place in the sun, shallow sea with a smooth entrance, clear water. Good infrastructure: many cafés located right on the beach, shops, restaurants. Chong Mon Beach has many expensive hotels. Choeng Mon Beach is a beautiful cove with a length of about 700 m, with a large sandy beach, with rocks on one side, so it is an ideal diving spot. You can get to Chong Mon only by taxi.
