Phuket is the largest island in Thailand, located in the southern part of the kingdom in the Andaman Sea of the Indian Ocean. The island stretches from north to south for almost 50 kilometers, with a maximum width of up to 21 kilometers. The island is connected with the mainland of the kingdom by three bridges. Phuket is adjacent to the provinces of Phangna and Krabi. Phuket has gained incredible popularity and fame as a world-class seaside resort primarily due to its magnificent beaches, quite wide, long and covered with very fine white sand. Most of the beaches are located on the west, south-west and south coast of the island.
Patong beach
One of the most popular tourist areas is Patong Beach, whose name translates from Thai as 'banana forest'. Patong Beach is 2 km long. Life is in full swing here, day and night. A huge number of various bars, cafés, restaurants and makashniki with delicious Thai food, snacks and delicacies.
Massage salons and discos, a diving and surfing school are located near the coast.
You can go for a banana ride, water skiing, parasailing, or try to conquer uncontrollable waves. An excellent beach for energetic fidgets.
Most of the hotels are located inland, sometimes several kilometers from the coast, and during the high and peak tourist seasons, the beach is crowded with holidaymakers.
Patong is the "capital" of Phuket's nightlife, therefore it is a favorite destination for young people and thrill-seekers.
Karon Beach
Karon Beach is suitable both for families with children and for a fun holiday with friends. There are secluded corners and places for active recreation on the beach.
The length of the beach line is 4 km. Long golden beach, divided into two parts by a promontory with a palm forest. Lots of beach activities. Scuba diving and surfing equipment can be rented. Not without parachutes, buns and bananas, however, someone will only be glad of this. There is also an opportunity to try yourself in water skiing and wakeboarding.
The southern part of the beach has a lot to admire for diving enthusiasts. There is a complex of several volleyball courts on the beach. Despite the fact that the beach is quite popular, there are much fewer people than in Patong. There are always a lot of vacationers on the beach, but the territory here is huge. There are various restaurants, cafés, bars and a night market on the Karon waterfront. And it's especially good here at sunset. Just a great look and feel.
Kata beach
Vacationers believe that Kata Beach has the cleanest water on the island, and the sand on the beach is white and fairly clean. This beach is suitable for both families with children and active tourists. This picturesque place with a calm sea cannot but please the eye. Surfing here is best done from May to October. Length of 1.5 km along the coast to the coral reef, here is the best diving. The beach is equipped with sun loungers, there are many water activities, massage services, restaurants with delicious seafood and Thai dishes. And also you will find a good selection of shops. Fans of a relaxing holiday come to Kata Beach, wanting to escape from the hustle and bustle: it is usually quiet here at night, nothing will disturb your sleep.
The most popular observation deck, Karon View Point, is located to the south of the beach. It is from here that you can see all the beauty of the beach, make cool photos with a mesmerizing view for Instagram or relatives.
Kamala Beach
Some tourists consider Kamala beach to be the best in Phuket, as the hotels of this beach have direct access to the water. For this reason, pensioners, older people, families with children are more likely to gather here. A measured life goes on as usual, there are always few vacationers, and the sand remains clean throughout the high season.
Another feature of Kamala Beach is its incredible scenery. But countless restaurants, bars and attractions cannot be found here. However, food can be ordered, and silence is considered an additional advantage. Relaxation and ECO rest are provided. Ideal for families with children. The entrance to the sea is shallow, the seabed is sandy, the ocean currents are weak, which makes it possible to swim in peace. Sun loungers and beach mats are available for rent. In the northern part, the sea is cleaner and there are fewer tourists, but in the south you can go snorkeling. There is a wonderful Buddhist temple not far from the beach.
Bang Tao Beach
Bang Tao Beach is located on the northwest coast of Phuket and is a picturesque lagoon, in the north of which there is a small rocky bay with a coral reef.
This is one of the longest beaches on the island - 8 km. In addition, Bang Tao is considered the most luxurious beach on the island. Bang Tao was originally a Muslim fishing village where the locals were engaged in fishing. When tourism spread to Phuket, five-star hotels and golf courses were built in the Bang Tao area.
This beach is 5 kilometers long. There are very few people in the northern part. Due to the fact that periodically there are big waves, you can't buy with little kids. There are already more people in the southern part of Bang Tao, there are many hotels, shops, cafes. The middle part of Bang Tao is inhabited by continuous resorts around the lakes, such a pretentious and expensive place. There is a surfing, diving, yachting school on the beach.
Nai Harn Beach
Nai Harn can be called a dream binder for its charm and exuberant nature. The beach is located in the southwestern part of Phuket Island, next to Yanui and Ao Sein beaches.
Nai Harn is somewhat reminiscent of the lost lagoon from films about paradise life on tropical islands. Palm trees, a wide strip of sand and lazy transparent waves give you a sense of privacy and tranquility. In the very center of the resort there is a freshwater lake, the famous attraction of this place is the ancient monastery of Samnak Song.
The Nai Harn area is ideal for resort holidays. There is all the standard set of tourist infrastructure facilities: cafés, restaurants, bars, sports grounds, souvenir shops and exchange offices.
The whole of Nai Harn is surrounded on both sides by palm groves, which only adds coziness and some cinematography to the bay. There is practically no nightlife on the beach.
Mai Khao Beach
This is the longest beach in Phuket. Its length is about 10 km.
The beach itself is completely deserted, there are only a few hotels, sand and sea.
This beach belongs to the territory of the Sirinat National Park and does not imply any civilization. It's not for nothing that turtles come here to lay eggs.
But tourists don't come here for them.
Have you seen those breathtaking videos and photos of the plane literally overhead? So, this is not editing or photoshop. It is here, just 50 meters from the beach, that the airport is located.
It is impossible to return home without fantastic photographs, where you are actually catching the plane by the tail.
Can you imagine what emotions and memories remain for the rest of your life? And you don't need to imagine, rather take tickets and feel it all yourself.
Surin Beach
Wealthy tourists who come to Thailand consider Surin the best beach in Phuket - everything is designed for discerning guests. There are shopping centers, fashionable hotels, stylish boutiques and beauty salons. The restaurants serve elite wines and excellent delicacies, and an incredible service is organized on the shore.
The entrance to the sea is shallow, sometimes small stones are found at the bottom. There are usually few people - probably, prices frighten them off. The landscape enchants with beauty, and pines growing instead of palms add even more exoticism - a rarity for the resort.Vacation on the Surin beach promises to be varied, sports activities are provided.
Surin National Park is nearby, where you can go after the beach. The only drawback is that there are often waves. But for someone it is a minus, but for someone a plus. But we are sure that you will fall in love with this wonderful place.
